We all know people who are real performers.
They do whatever they do so well that results are astounding.
They are the achievers.
If you are one of them. Congrats! may god bless you!
But there are very few of them.
There is a large category who claps for these guys. May be they are followers, loyalists, admirers, fans, whatever you call them. These are the people who wish to learn from the achievers, who look up to them.
If you are one of them, my best wishes are with you.
And there is a third category...which is not as obvious as the other two. These are the people who envy the performers.
Sometimes they might look like clapping with the crowd. But if you inspect, their applause will be listless. Peep into their eyes and you will see a big 'BUT' written in there.
They think they are as good as the performers. They think the performers have got the awards for wrong reasons. They are sure the clappers are a lot of ignorant people who doesn't have a sense of true standards.
Let's not jump to any judgments.
We all have such moments. If we get deeper, we will find a feeling of guilt. A sense that we didn't try our best. All those nights when we could have pushed ourselves but we chose otherwise. When we preferred a TV reality show or a cricket match, rather than taking our performance a notch up.
Or, we will find a sense of not being able to match the performers even after our best efforts.
These are moments of truth which tell us...we have to raise the bar and increase the efforts to get better results. Or may be change the approach we are following now.
Our response to such moments will decide the scene next year.
If we rationalize and play the blame game nothing will change. If we respond to these moments as a feedback, sooner or later the limelight will be on us.
If you are one of them. Congrats! may god bless you!
